Sarita was first produced at INTAR, 420 West 42nd Street, New York City, on January 18, 1984. Music was composed by Leon Odenz. The set was designed by Donald Eastman, lights by Anne E. Melitello, and costumes by Gabriel Berry. The play was directed by Maria Irene Fornes with the following cast:
